September - October Update

God’s Been Good

September started off significantly cooler. It was nearly 100 degrees when we left Florida, and two days later, we stepped out of the car in Massachusetts to a brisk 63 degrees. What a change!

Our favorite aspect of deputation has been the opportunity to meet some of the most gracious individuals in the churches that God has led us to. We've visited some incredibly warm and welcoming churches. It's astonishing how each church has its unique character. Recently, we had the privilege of presenting at a church in New Jersey, where we were delighted to see the diverse nationalities represented. It deepened our longing to be in Portugal.

At the beginning of the month, we achieved a record as we visited six churches in a single week. Through this, I've learned to trust in God. I can work diligently to fill our schedule, but it's equally satisfying to witness Him unexpectedly fill it as we receive random calls to present our mission.

One of the most rewarding aspects of our journey has been the opportunity to engage with the next generation through children's ministries and Christian schools. Over the past two months, we've been able to speak to over 1,000 young people through Christian schools. Please keep these young people in your prayers as we trust that God will continue working in their lives.

What's Next

We now have just one month left in our hectic season. We concluded October in Louisiana and attended a conference in Philadelphia. We'll be flying back to Louisiana to finish up a few churches in the southern part of the state before heading to Oklahoma. After that, we'll make our way to Kansas City to participate in our traditional Family Thanksgiving at my Aunt Norma's. While we've been blessed to visit some incredible churches and establish wonderful relationships, we are eagerly anticipating our return home to reconnect with our friends and family.

We Can See It

It's been an exciting time as we plan our next survey trip and work through the Visa process. We can now envision life beyond deputation and begin making plans to get to Portugal.

Needed Prayers

Our prayer requests haven't changed much from last month. Please continue to pray for our boys back home while we are away. Pray that God will watch over them and work in their lives. We also request prayers for Portugal, asking that God starts working in the lives of the people there.

Love, Billy and Mary
